For inexpensive stock photography and illustration, there is no better source on the web. Getty Images now owns them, but things appear to be the same as before, and all is still well. For highly specific subject matter, iStockphoto may not be the best source, but for sheer affordability, it’s hard to beat.

First there was PhotoDisc, then there was Getty Images. The two became one and bought up as much as they could. They are still considered the premier resource for stock photography, both royalty-free and rights-managed. Expect to pay a premium for these images, especially if you choose rights-managed imagery.
